I provided therapy to teens, adults, and older adults and offer a holistic approach to counseling that aims to empower my clients and build upon existing strengths and abilities. Whether you are seeking short-term or long-term counseling, depth counseling can help you gain greater self-awareness, deepen your relationships, and change self-defeating patterns or self-sabatoge. I also offer a blend of modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness-based Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), humanistic, existential, self-hypnosis, and Jungian/depth therapy. My role as a counselor is to provide you the space to learn about yourself and begin to understand your own thoughts, feelings, and reactions, as well as help you navigate and overcome life’s challenges.
My approach is also trauma-informed as I bring an awareness of how familial, societal, cultural, and economic structures often perpetuate and compound the negative impact of trauma, making it difficult to establish physical and emotional safety and ultimately work towards healing. From my perspective, symptoms often arise as a result of surviving difficult situations and attempting to cope with trauma and stress. I offer support to individuals struggling with trauma, PTSD, depression, anxiety, bipolar, eating disorders, childhood abuse, domestic abuse, chronic health issues, grief, major life transitions, and career changes. Therapy can help you learn healthy tools to better manage stress, learn more about the impact of trauma, feel more empowered, and make more conscious and intentional life choices.
My experience has led me to work in a variety of settings, including an eating disorder clinic, homeless shelter, outpatient community mental health, crisis counseling in hospitals and prisons, and private practice. I not only have knowledge about how the mental health system works, but I also have an awareness of available resources and potential gaps in care. I also have experience and enjoy working with clients from diverse backgrounds and am sensitive to cultural, ethnic, and religious/spiritual differences.
It is my belief that the therapuetic relationship can bring about positive change and help you uncover and utilize the unique gifts, skills, and talents you already possess.
