Supporting You with Trauma-Informed Care
With a background in community and trauma counseling, Tristan Mitchell-Shannon, LAC, offers a therapeutic approach that begins with creating a safe, non-judgmental space to explore inner strengths and resiliency. As a member of the LGBTQIA2S+ community, I have done the necessary work to provide you with a safe, collaborative space to process difficult emotions. My experience in the therapeutic space also encompasses concerns including relational and family issues, men’s issues, end-of-life, sexual and domestic violence and more.
Tristan Mitchell-Shannon (she/he), Licensed Associate Counselor
I am Licensed Associate Counselor, holding a Master’s degree in Community and Trauma Counseling and a Bachelor’s degree in Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality studies. As an associate counselor, I have had the honor of working with people from all walks of life and deeply appreciate the trust that my clients have put into me. No matter what identities you navigate through life with, everyone deserves a kind person to lean on for support. I value autonomy and your ability to make decisions that feel best for you, even if it takes some time to figure out what those are. Therapy, inherently, is a vulnerable process but seeking it out when life has been challenging is a brave decision.
As a member of the LGBTQ+ community, I have done the necessary work to provide you a safe, collaborative space to process in. My experience in the therapeutic space also encompasses concerns including relational and family issues, men’s issues, depression, anxiety, relationship issues, end-of-life, sexual and domestic violence and more. I have experience working with young adults, adults, and older adults providing individual, couples, and family therapy.
